You can see the wip painting for the page a few entries back at my Tumblr, linked below! I vowed not to half-ass it so it took forever, sorry about that! Next page soon.
*is trying very very hard not to make a “first!” comment*
Your effort paid off – this page is gorgeous. Though I have a bad feeling about what comes next…
I love Alamand’s noodly limbs. I bet he could have squeezed through that grate without opening it– that was just a courtesy for Soli, who is not made of noodles.
This was well worth the wait. It’s nice when webcomics update on a reliable schedule, but it’s more important to me that the art (fine and liberal) is good.
Is the archway in the fourth panel the same as the one in the last panel? If so, should we be able to see part of that ladder? It would help me connect the two perspectives.
Anyhow, I’m excited to keep reading. Keep up the good work!
Yeah, I’ve been doing so much art work lately that my style is kind of going crazy all over the place. Editing this chapter to be consistent is going to be really incredibly fun and not frustrating at all, I can tell.
I think it’s interesting, personally. The “inconsistencies” that is. Keeps it kinda fresh in a way. Of course, that’s not technically “professional”, but hey. Improvements in the artwork is visibly present however, and I really respect that kind of dedication and passion. Keep it up! :DDD
Haha, yes, think of it as an interactive comic XD Where you catch my mistakes and I correct them the next day. Just another reason why I love the webcomic medium!
Actually, catching inconsistencies in printed comics isn’t all that strange. I know that the art in a lot of the manga that I’ve read progressively grows as the series continues and I know that I, personally, enjoy seeing how it changes and improves.
Not that your art is improving per se. And what I mean by that is it’s already really fantastic and that sometimes the style is tweaked a bit, but that’s about it.
I think the issue is more of crawling through the sewers than the claustrophobia. I’m not claustrophobic, but I’d sure be acting similarly if *I* had just taken an unexpected excursion through the sewer system.
The lighting on this page is pretty great. I’m also loving all that detail.
Alamand is definitely looking different to me, especially his hair. His reaction to this is hilarious compared to Soli. You’re really good at developing characters that work well together.
Something looks wrong about the prominent building on the far left in the bottom panel, with the red roof and the window with the two wooden shutters/doors. I feel like it is flattening the image…. IT looks like the building is doing a violent contortion to the left, the roof, it just doesn’t seem to line up. Will you double check the perspective on it?
I think I see what you mean. Some of the lines aren’t 100% straight because I was freehanding it all (vs using shift to draw a straight line) and I think that is messing with it. I’ll shelve this under “look at it later” since I think it’ll be more obvious once I put some time in between me and this page. Thanks for pointing it out though.
Amazing page. I can’t even begin to guess the time that would have gone into those rooves.
Not trying to pick, but in panel five it should be “let’s” (with an apostrophe for the contraction). I’m only pointing it out because the overall quality of the comic is amazing, and it’d be a shame to see something like that slip through. :)
The cave leading into the sewer was cramped but the pipe itself has a bit more room to walk. And Alamand probably weaseled his way ahead once he saw the light.
Ooh! Buildings! Is this the first city-scape we’ve seen?
I very much like the cobbled street.
Is there something strange going on with the tiles on roof on the upper left of the bottom-most cell?
Wow, this cityscape is wonderfully Assassin’s Creed-esque. I almost expect Altair to come bounding over the roof and jump down on Soli. Granted, she’d probably just shoot him. Oh well. Anyway, great page! I’m loving the desolate feel to this page; can’t wait to see what happens next.
I have a feeling they are going to talk about something completely unrelated and Angora and/or Pinter is going to bump into them while running from someone/thing.
This SUCKS. This is the most SUCKIEST art I’ve seen in AGES. And it SUCKS. Especially the last panel, that one is the SUCKIEST panel in the history of SUCK !
I have a sneaking suspicion that Alamand’s “We are NEVER doing that again!” comment was somewhat directed at the creation of this page! ^^ But still, wonderful work! Your hard work really shows through in this page! ^^
The roof-tops look like fun. I bet you could have an amazing chase-scene up there (if drawing it didn’t kill you). Haven’t read through all the comments, so sorry if someone’s already pointed this out, but there seems to be a plank of (I assume) wood you haven’t coloured inat the right side of the last panel.
Anyway, it’s lovely. It was nice to see it develop from a wip into this!

Insert horrible war atrocity.
here’s where they get attacked by zombies
(beautiful page)
Oh dear, dead=bad, that’s what horror movies taught me anyway! And is that an important piece of graffiti in panel three or is it just random?
It looks similar to that one from a couple pages back in the canyon. Perhaps they’re markers for each end of the tunnel.
fffff this is my favorite color scheme <3 This is absolutely gorgeous, love the intricate linework!
Ahh, guess they couldn't have taken the horses anyway, so it wasn't too much of a loss.

I. LOVE. this. page. The detail and the angles and the colors and
But I can definitely see how it would take forever :B
Yup, that was an awesome page. Great composition, and execution…
Hahaha Alamand.
Even the colors are spooky. The last panel gives me shivers.
I think he’s not really allowed to be annoyed at anyone calling him a “lady” anymore, he’s much more ladylike than Soli!

Durr, yes, there should probably be a ladder there, haha. Thanks for catching that!
the art’s been looking different recently

I hope that does not sound insulting. (0_0)
Truly awesome. Love how the colors subtly shift from one page to the next.
Is that a transparent wood plank linking the top of the wedge shaped building and the roof of the building to its right, in the last panel?
Don’t worry Alamand. I’m claustrophobic too.

This reminds me so much of Return to Omashu in Avatar! :D
:D
i really like their relationship
OK, please tell me I’m not the only one who thought of this upon seeing Alamand’s arm in the second panel:
“Pa-pa-paper!!!” from LoZ: Majora’s Mask.
And I fully understand the time spent on this page. Cityscapes like this kill me to draw. XD
…I wondered from were I recognised that hand. Spooky.
Wow, I love the colors here, really gives the empty streets a ‘not quite right’ feel. :)
Love the fourth panel. I could feel the silence of the place. Something awful is up.
Amazing page. I can’t even begin to guess the time that would have gone into those rooves.

Nice page. :D Wonder where everyone is.
Soli went into the tunnel before Alamand; how come Alamand comes out first?
The cave leading into the sewer was cramped but the pipe itself has a bit more room to walk. And Alamand probably weaseled his way ahead once he saw the light.

Awesome detail man. I hope the next one comes soon. I hate waiting, but I’ll wait as long it takes.
Alamand, the boy who walked through a river of shit, and wasn’t anymore clean on the other side…
cue eerie music
Am I the only one who thinks them doing this again, a few years from now, would be a deliciously ironic nod to this page?
Oooh, lovely page. Worth the wait!
Just a small grammatical error in the last panel… should be “Then let’s get going.” Contraction between “let” and “us.”

Did Luca kill everyone? D:

;n; brb jumping off bridge
I bet you will SUCK at that too.
Whoa, there. Are you serious, or are you just trolling? Cause, you don’t have to like it, but you don’t have to write rude comments, either.
8C I am pretty sure they are just kidding! Even if not, it’s cool. Don’t freak out.
Just kidding guys. Really, it is hard to portray sarcasm over the internets. Just to contrast how much unneccesary selfbeating Der Shing does.
It’s probably better than anything YOU could draw, @$$

I am in love with your backgrounds! *0*
…..It’s quiet… TOO quiet…..
*ninja attack*
Three things:
I love this page, and admire you so much for sticking it through to make it beautiful :3
Alamand”s hair in the third panel, is he looking down? It’s what I assumed, but at first I thought his hair had been given an impromptu cut-n’-dye. :P
That blue paint on the wall… it wouldn’t happen to have anything to do with Soli’s tattoo, would it?
(last panel) ASSASSIN’S CREED
I DON’T KNOW WHAT THAT IS (hopefully not a bad thing)
Remember that game you gave me for building your computer?
The city you run around in looks like the last panel XD

Oh, ahahaha. Maybe we are googling the same ref pictures!
I can’t see it ;___;
It might just be the internet connection but I’ve refreshed a bunch of times and all I’m getting is a broken image picture thing.
