Here we go!
You might have noticed the swankass site. It was built by my incredible friend Lowell, who knows how to do everything for some inexplicable reason. Some new features for you to play with:
- Archives: SO AWESOME you can click on the thumbnail images to get to a visual archive, as;ldkfaj
- Less ads: Just something to keep the site less distracting! Though I have to say the ad over there looks kind of cool >__> Nice colors.
- Keyboard nav: This is actually an older feature, but in case you weren’t aware, you can use your keyboard to go forward and back. If you are like me and are too lazy to lift your finger to click, this is pretty swell
Anyhow isn’t this awesome? Here, I’ll answer for you, yes it is. Thank you Lowell, and again, thank you donors for making it all happen!
Oh, and I would also like the thank Lauren Davis for her lovely review on io9 the other day, that was pretty awesome.
I think that’s the last of the business-y stuff! Next update will be on Sunday, along with some overdue comic pimps and such. Thanks for reading!

Yay, the return of Angora!
Those first three panels amaze me. Excellent way to show rain starting.
Why thank you ;u;
I thought the same thing! Wonderful! :D
Gorgeous colouring and like Kasumi I am blown away by the rain panels! Really cool.
Great way to start! Look forward to this issue. :D
Using the first chapter as a reference you can see how much you’ve improved between the two! The scenery, and Angora, look so awesome here. ‘Dem back-lines.
Haha, thanks! Yes, the secret to better trees is, evidently, spending way too much time drawing little circles and half-circles.
Happy trees!
Awesome! Can’t wait to buy the new book too. :D
I love angora! Isn’t she great? I think this pair are my favourite so far and the colouring is just so perfect. I’m really looking forward to this chapter. :)
Yes, that pair is my favorite as well.
Pinter too.
Aaaa! I’m so glad this is starting again. The Meek was the first webcomic I started reading and it is definitely still one of my favorites.
Same here!
You’ve improved so much since the first chapter (not that it wasn’t awesome in the first place, i just happened to re-read it yesterday 8D) and I can’t wait for the next page. :D
Angora’s back! Hooray! <3
I don’t mean to sound like a drag but I can’t help but notice your older pages, like the first chapter looks fuzzy now to my computer running Firefox. The new pages look nice by the way
You might want to refresh your browser or whatever, in case you still have the site loaded from last week. All of the pages (except 3.40) have been reduced from their original gigantic size and reuploaded, which means that the aren’t stretched. If there’s any fuzziness it might be because of an actual blur effect and not because of resizing.
I refreshed and wow it looks beautiful. Thanks for all the hours making this amazing story and work of art.
I guess Pinter is not a big fan of the rain, judging by the look on his face.
And I’m liking the perception and size difference between Angora and Pinter on the last panel.
I’m quite sorry but EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!
Why am I so excited? What have you done to mee!
^ This.
Lovely new design! Unfortunately the pages that turn up in my RSS are really tiny =/
Otherwise the art is amazing as usual, as the story itself. I’m looking forward to the return of green haired girl!
Delicious.
Hold on, is Pinter missing his skullcap?
No, it’s on there, just hanging out on the back of his head XD
That thing and gravity have some serious quarrels.
Don’t worry, there are clips involved :B
You know what I am thinking? Pinter musn’t walk too much, otherwise he will lose weight… or at least his manboobs.
Trust me, it’s not that simple. :v
FFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU–
i love you.
i wish everything in the world was as beautiful as these pages
Finally! I have been waiting for ages! Thanks so much for never stopping this comic. It is so awesome! The art, the setting, the story, the characters. I love it so much. Please update frequently and never stop production. (I’d never be able to stop bawling…)
Haha, total cultural disconnect.
Pinter: “Ugh, rain! Now I’ll get wet! This sucks.”
Angora: “Oh huh, it’s raining.”
It just hit me that ohmigodthisisbackeeee.
So I’m squeeing myself into a coma. It’s a good feeling.
Love the new site. And the new functions. And the new page. And… ilu. <3
uhh so wait you’ve already done printing of chapter 2? and I missed this?? D; My soul has been crsuhed…
Yeah, there were only two hundred or so printed and sold at conventions, nothing online. There were some problems with the print quality that I didn’t want to pass on, it’s easier and better and cheaper to put my time into making a good book and not into formatting and proofing a small issue.
Hi! Love this page– the rain, the trees, Pinter, Angora, everything!
However, I just wanted to report that I purchased the bonus comics about a week ago and they still haven’t arrived…
Thanks so much for letting me know! If you’ll email sales@4de.com, they will take care of that for you right away. Let me know if you have any trouble!
…I should probably go back to the beginning and reread, because I forgotted what these two are doing, exactly. ^^; But I love the page, and the new layout!
I know people have already said this but those rain panels are just gorgeous. I’m madly in love with them!!
This comic is so beautiful ;w;
Into the unknown <3
Pinter isn’t a rain person.
I LOVE YOUR TREES MAN!!!
Angora Crew returns! I’ve been looking forward to this, I haven’t found the other characters nearly as endearing as Angora & Pinter.
Loving the new site, it’s really slick and professional looking! The simple grays are nice.
Haha Pinter, a 13-year-old girl can hang tougher than you.
Love the way you draw nature, Der-Shing. Especially trees.
Gorgeous page.
I’m curious about the posturing in the last panel. What is Angora looking at?
I think she’s looking at the position of the sun because she’s commenting that there’s still a lot of daylight left.
when i see the new site header, all i can think of is this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=HGeTbluXZjs#t=24s
xD
THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT I THOUGHT OF. asdfghjkl;.
Awh. Poor Pinter-Of-The-Jungle. And I bet he’s had to be sober for waaaaaayyyy longer than he’s been happy with.
” I will make beer from my OWN PISS dammit! “
Raining in a jungle.
I love this chapter already.
I <3 you and this comic so much. In a totally platonic way, mind, but I felt it needed to be said (I'm also a dirty cheater, since it ALWAYS deserves to be said when you really feel it).
Anyway, I'm so glad you're back. The Meek and all the hard work you put into it makes me a significantly and quantifiable-y happier person.
Thank you for everything. :)
Hehe. Oh Pinter you’re not as tough as a little girl with green hair. :D
Hey, it’s only a little rain. In an super thick forest. So what’s the pro- Oh! Right, your an ordinary flabby man. ;P
Huh I am surprised no one commented that the tree that angora is on looks like the back end of her Father and the branches by pinter look like his arms.
fsssssssplorflsqueeee! You just made my day by posting this.
Poor Pinter. He was not raised by amphibians, and thus cannot appreciate the virtues of atmospheric humidity D:
I just love the huge tree Angora is chillin’ on.
Gives a real idea of the size of the jungle they’re in.
I’m the only person I know in my immediate circle that will get excited when I’m driving past a cluster of trees and see one big huge ancient one hulking over all the others.
Just this past spring my parents’ Buckeye Tree blew over from a wind storm and crushed the neighbor’s house. No one was hurt, but it was the oldest tree in town, and seeing it all cut up and waiting to be taken away made me legit tear up. I know so many squirrels depended on that tree to get through winter, too. ;_;
Anyway, that was an unrelated rant of idiotic measure…
AWESOME PAGE. I love Pinter’s annoyed look and stance so much in panel 4. Reminds me of my brother. Ha.
Looks super. I hope to see more updates soon.
YAY! Angora’s back! She’s really…grown on me. Nyuk nyuk nyuk. :D
I’m loving the bigger pages; I wouldn’t have been able to appreciate the marvelous colors in this otherwise. The color of the sky is so pretty and yet a little bit sad at the same time.
I love how angora’s hair is turning a little blue in the rain, i don’t know if thats just the light she’s in or just a cool detail, but the page looks fantastic!
I am in love with the first 3 panels for some reason. So simple but still gorgeous.
C’mon Pinter. A lil’ rain ain’t gonna hurt ‘cha!
I am so happy to be back to this group. Soli is great and all, but nothing tops Pinter. NOTHING. Pinter is easily my favorite character in this comic. Angora is… well, at least she’s not Alamand. :|
Panel four! Oh my goodness I love panel four. That is a terrific tree. I wish to have that tree in my back yard, complete with rocks.
Ahh, Pinter. You capture my heart. Or at least I empathize with the “no hiking in the rain” mentality.
And Angora. A lot of people seem to be talking around it, so I’ll just say it: Angora is HOT. Not specifically because she’s topless, Angora’s just hot. (Keep in mind – I think Soli’s hot too.)
Ah, I got the bonus stuff. Very interesting. :-)
And yay for new site and new chapter, of course. I guess my favourite character is Luca, but Pinter is pretty neat, too.
Judging by how haunted he looks at the top and in this one ‘the lost one’ is going to get greeted by the shock of sobriety+withdrawal pretty quick. Hopefully getting to their target pulls him out of it.
This is gorgeous art ;_;
